I exBFed until 2.5. Neither one of us was ready to wean but my milk went away mid pregnancy and dry nursing hurt too much. I so wanted to tandem nurse! It really bonds the siblings. DD1 was really looking forward to more milk after the baby came, but after a failed attempt does not want to try again. I've been thinking about the pumping idea, like you. DD got eczema right after weaning and I am fairly certain my milk would fix it. In my other thread you can read about how it cured year long diarrhea for another LO.

Please listen to your intuition and not everyone who is telling you to cold turkey wean a baby. Again. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me, right? I did some things with DD1 that I was fooled into (HEP B vax for example), but now I know better. We learn.

My oldest didn't nurse at all. I weaned A after the first few months. B nursed until 3 years, when we mutually weaned. K is still going at 37 months (she turned 3 early June). She is not ready to wean and there's no telling when we'll wean. She nurses anywhere from 1-4 times a day. Noah is almost 9 months and still nursing. I have no intention of weaning him anytime soon.

my DS self weaned at 18 months when I was pregnant and very morning sick with #3
DD1 is 23 months and still nursing 6 weeks ago she was still nursing on demand but now is nursing 1-3 times a day DD2 is only 9 months and still nursing on demand I don't know how much longer DD1 will nurse so far me being pregnant again isn't bothering her but if my milk supply drops my 1st priority is nursing DD2

Still nursing at 15 months, Don't think we'll quit anytime soon!

And sad that people on this thread seem to be misinformed... breastmilk will always keep the antibodies no matter what age.....

if DD1 is still nursing in 6 months than yep I'll be nursing 3 the thought makes me thirsty
