Re: What would your perfect home be?
We just want a big, pretty, secluded house... That's the house our daydreams center around. We change details about it daily, according to our whimsies.

Re: What would your perfect home be?
Anything I owned free and clear that isn't a dump. My only other request would be that it has enough bedrooms so no more than 2 people had to share a bedroom or a bathroom.

Re: What would your perfect home be?
4bedroom, 2 bath ranch style house with a large kitchen with dishwasher and big pantry, walk in bedroom closets, den or family room, big laundry room, off street parking with garage and a big fenced in back yard.

Re: What would your perfect home be?
Our house is pretty awesome actually. I can't deny it. Very close to perfect. MIL lives with us (has a walkout basement apartment)
If I fell into a large sum of money... and we wanted to move -- we'd probably find at least 30 acres and build something like this: http://www.drummondhouseplans.com/ho...o/1002793.html On at least a look out, if not another walk out lot, and a bit larger then the plans (eg a 30x30 great room) -- with a triple car garage.

Re: What would your perfect home be?
DH & I fantasize mostly about the kitchen of our dreams:
2 ovens, one convection gas range with 6 burners, definitely restaurant/professional grade; Sub-zero refrigerator/freezer, plus at least one small satellite fridge in the workspace...probably a third for drinks, near the seating; enormous stainless steel counters, at least 2, with loads of space between them--so we can both work comfortably; a small sink, with disposal, in each work area, as well as the full-sized sink, plus a faucet at the gas range; a second, electric, cooktop with sealed high-speed burners; a QUIET, high efficiency dish washer!! I hate our current one so much. It's LOUD and takes forever and leaves things dirty way too often. Plenty of seating close to the work areas; more seating a bit removed, with lots of windows and right near an outdoor deck/patio, so as many meals as possible can be served either outside or just inside open doors; open shelving and ceiling hooks for all the pots and pans, and magnets and hooks for utensils. We want a TV and really comfortable seating, and a huge table, in the kitchen. We don't want a great room so much as we just want to live in the kitchen itself all day Seriously, if the kitchen and the outdoor space is comfortable, we would love a house that was nothing but an eat-in kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms. As for the rest of the house, I want a fantastic bathroom with a super-deep whirlpool tub, and a separate shower with multiple shower heads on 3 walls; enough bedrooms for each kid still living with us to have one of their own...but if I'm building this dreamhouse after my youngest has grown up, I just want one guest room. HUGE closets and private bath for each bedroom. Our bedroom needs a large closet for DH and a full dressing-room style closet for me. With an alcove for shoes. At least an alcove. Separate water heater for each bathroom, and one for kitchen/laundry only. Lots of outdoor entertaining/living space. I don't care about having a pool, but DH would definitely want one. He'd want a hot tub, too. Oh! He'd also want a sauna. ![]() I have to have central air. I want stone walls and lots of windows. I want rain cisterns so the toilets can use rainwater as much as possible; I also want solar panels and a windmill, hooked up to a generator, to supply as much of the house's electricity as possible. ETA: all one floor, with the laundry room among the bedroom area, not in the living area. Very large internal garage, plus enough storage that I don't need to keep anything but cars in it.
