Birthday party invite help!
I'm looking for some ideas!! I need to make my son some birthday invites to mail to the family. its his first birthday. we are beyond broke. I want them to be really cute! His theme is farm yard. I have a friend that has a cricut but no farm animal cartridge.
I love THESE. but I dont know how to make animals that cute! I will probably end up making little barns and when you open the doors it will have the info inside. Anyone have any links to something cute and easy?? i'm all googled out!

Print it on card stock and cut it out by hand would be my suggestion. Microsoft.com has tons of clip art or just google images.

Re: Birthday party invite help!
You can use free digital scrapbook kits too... I usually print my dd's invites as 4x6's from Walmart... $0.09 ea I'm trying to think if I've seen any with cows... Even if you pay $5 for a kit, you can use it for all his decorations, etc...
I have this one http://www.afterfivedesigns.com/shop...productid=1524 You can dl the gimp free to work with layers or just print the cow as is... or if you get me the info, I can make you a digital 4x6 you can print... oh, and the barn idea is super cute! Re: Birthday party invite help!
I had a farm party for my daughter a few years back. I took a photo of her in overalls with a straw hat holding a kids plastic rake and then designed the invitation in microsoft word by adding her photo and digitally cutting and pasting farm animal clip art from the web into a regular word document. I played with the layout of the pictures and used cutesy wording, and voila, a cute invitation. I just printed them out on best quality on my home color printer at a little smaller than 4X5" and then attached them to slightly larger pieces of bandana scrapbook paper and used plain brown craft paper envelopes.
They turned out super cute (if you PM me an email address, I can send you the template and you are welcome to fiddle with them and use parts), were cheap, and in the grand scheme of scrapbooking/homemade invitation making, they didn't take too much time. I'm better at computer layout and design than actual scrapbooking/paper cutting/etc. though. I love your idea of making barns with doors that open, though. You could do that and put a picture of your little one inside the doors! Also, there are tons of cute ideas for farm cakes if you haven't already googled it. I made a fairly simple barn cake and piggy, cow, and sheep animal cupcakes around it. It was cute and fun (but nowhere near professional looking!). Good luck! |
