Can you give me some advice?
I'm just trying to think this through.
I have a 6 yr old who's birthday is in Feb. so we are going to start 1st grade homeschooling this year. Most of it will be very easy content for her and get more challenging towards the end of the year. I have a 4 year old son who will be turning 5 in september. He is right on up there with his sister as far as being able to read, writing (needs more work), math skills, etc. Should I start him with my 6 year old at the 1st grade level? I really think he could do it! Would there be any downfall to me starting him off in first grade? What about having the two at the same schooling level? Any thoughts would be wonderful! I'm very new at this!

If he can do the work, start them with the same work but allow for him to progress at his own rate if needed.

Re: Can you give me some advice?
My two oldest girls are 11 and 12 (16 months apart) and for most things they are on the same level. We use a core based curriculum anyway that is adaptable to a range of ages but even with something else I think they would be together except for math, the younger one doesn't like it as much and she is 1 year behind the older one who enjoys it.

Re: Can you give me some advice?
Just because they are the same level now, doesn't mean they will stay there. Allow for differences when they come up, but there's no reason why you can't do them together. A lot of curriculums are written so multiple children can be basically doing the same thing.

Re: Can you give me some advice?
I would let him join in with the things we can obviously do. The other areas that need work (if there are any) can be worked on separately as necessary.
