Re: Pets for nurses working 12 hr shifts
They don't technically kill them, but what they do is basically just as bad! They just buy cute puppies then let them run away (toss them out the front door & never feed them again) when they chew something up or pee on the floor....DH and I have been trying to catch the latest one for the last 2 days so we can take it to a no kill.
Okay, I'll be good & not hijack another post tonight, sorry

I have a very independent cat and am considering a chameleon.

Re: Pets for nurses working 12 hr shifts
I would suggest two cats, better even if you can get two older cats from a shelter that have lived together. They won't be as needy as a kitten and they can keep each other company.

Re: Pets for nurses working 12 hr shifts
A pair of sugar gliders. I loved mine at one point I had 2 pairs they were the sweetest pets I've ever owned. I had a pair of ferrets when I first moved out and they were awesome too.

I adopted an adult cat. I was working 12 hour night shifts. It worked out well

. Rats don't do great when kept caged 24/7 either and require daily free time. I won't comment on hamsters because I'm no hamster expert.
