Re: WWYD...DR or no?

If it were me, I'd call and see what the phone nurse says. If it gets worse, I'd probably take my child in

This is what it looks like this morning. I am going to err on the side of caution and have it looked at. I can now see where it is a bite, and that was one nasty bug.

I sat on a wasp last summer, and my butt looked just like that for over a week. It looked like a giant welt, with a bump where the sting was. Itched like crazy, and was sore, but went away on its own.

Yep, and take these pics with you too. It actually looks like a sting to me and if it was you'll need to discuss what severity of reaction this was and how to proceed in the future.

Ok, so we are back from the Dr. She said it is a bee sting. It's funny that he didn't even know he was stung. Kinda scary too. I'm not surprised he had this reaction though as my mil reacted the same way. She gave us a prescription for zyrtec and said I could give him that and benedryl. And also to put cold compresses on it.

She also said that had it been any of the spiders that would be capable of causing that reaction, it would have been much worse today.

Yeah, I got stung by a bee a couple weeks ago by my ankle, it hurt!!

First it was a welp, then it was hard and itchy, it took a full week or more for it to go away. I didn't use anything for it. I personally don't believe in medicating for something like that, jmo.

Yes, that's what I would do too. One of my daycare kids gets spider bites that look like that. Nobody else in his family gets them, just him...so, it's hard to say what's biting him, but he's allergic to whatever it is.

Hopefully, this is just a typical bug bite, and he's allergic.
