Asthma Diet?
Is there a place to start to try and figure what my DD triggers are?
I do not know if it is food related, but she tests negative for everything on the skin, but she has severe asthma. We are seen by a pedicatric pulmonologist, and an allergist. They skin test her everytime we go to allergist bc no one can believe she is not allergic to something. We are on all the meds, on oral steroids about every three months. FLovent, Xopenex, Zyrtec, not Singular because she it doesnt work and she acts weird on it. I don t know where to start eliminating. My DH is sensitive to dairy, DS is allergic to dairy (GI issues and ear infections no + test with him either) also to soy (facial rash- negative skin testing for that too) I am sensitive to wheat and dairy (GI issues). My brother has a + blood test (2 out of 3 markers were positive) for Celiac, but has not had the biopsy done yet. She broke out in hives after kiwi once, i was told there was no way that was the cause, but... i have not tried kiwi again. The logical place is dairy. Is there a list or site or book to get me going here? Thanks mamas! |

Im of no usefulness except to say that while DS did not test pos for a dairy allergy, it totally is a trigger for his asthma. Other triggers are things like wonky weather patterns (highs and lows like spring/fall) and general outside allergies. HTH.
Sent from my DROID X2 using DS Forum. That means my typing is probably awful. I'm sorry.

That's good to know. Thank you.
I have started with several things. Out: Dairy Apples (cross reaction per mayo clinic w kiwi there's others but that's all she eats) In: Zyrtec Local honey Tracking tracking tracking Everything she eats. Also tracking her bowel, asthma, and behavior. Asthma rating for the day from azma.com and pollen rating with type in air: pollen.com I spent (some) of my tuition money on a top rated air purifier. I know a cheaper one could work- but I want no questions on the effectiveness of it. ------------ We will see..... |

Re: Asthma Diet?
I have astma and I am very sensitive to changes in the weather. I am particularly bad when the weather gets colder. Advair steroid Inhaler saved my life. I have tried other steroid inhalers prior to this and none worked as well as this. Also on zyrtec and flonase

Re: Asthma Diet?
I'm a strong believer in local honey for allergies!
