This wasn't my longest pregnancy, but it was my longest labor. Weird the way our bodies work!

41 weeks 2 days over here. I was woken at 2 this morning by contractions and thought maybe it was it, but a few hours later I feel asleep, so...yeah, not it. Oh well.

I am a little concerned that at my appt tomorrow morning my midwife is going to suggest an induction because my body seems to be under a strain right now as my fast heart rate continues (160 resting rate this evening), along with low energy, and some recent blood sugar issues. I may have low iron again. I do really trust my midwives and know they won't jump to an induction recommendation unless it's necessary, so I guess I'll have to see what they say and also what my blood test from Friday reveals.

I really, really don't want a hospital induction, and I actually would really like to avoid natural methods of induction unless I really need to get this baby out. I would much rather wait on my body's timing although I do feel impatient.

Same here! Every night I am sure it's the night and it fizzles out on me. The last two nights I have spent half the night awake with contractions then they die out around 2am.

I hope all our babies come soon!

Same here momma, the temptation is great to do something natural but I so want to just wait and let things happen on their own. So I'm just trying to take one day at a time. Tomorrow will be my 40 week midwife appointment. I have never made it to a 40 week appointment before!

Last night we were reading our devotions together and it was about waiting in the LORD. I really needed to hear that as I just need to trust Him and
His timing. Patience is something I struggle with so this is a good time for me to just rest in Him and His perfect timing.
That was exactly what I journaled about last night...waiting on the Lord's perfect timing. I don't know why I'm so impatient with this one - I am still about a week "early."

As far as "natural" induction methods, I know most of them are not proven and if your body isn't ready, then it won't work anyway, but I do wonder about sex. (sorry, I really do wonder!) I mean, how much is really necessary for the prostaglandins to start working? I already have been drinking a tea with RRL in it most of my pregnancy and I already walk pretty vigorously pushing a double stroller for 2 miles most days. My BH contrax do get stronger in the evenings and at night, but they are not crampy like I remember them being. Just tightness. We'll see......

You must be so exhausted with such little sleep day after day and a family to take care of!

AFM, my blood results say I am really anemic, so I have to up my iron supplement dose to triple. I will be taking magnesium too so I don't get too constipated. At least I now know why I am so exhausted most of the time! And why my heart rate is so fast.

So glad my midwife didn't even suggest an induction. She said baby's heart sounded great, and I seem to be doing really well, aside from the effects of low iron.

We scheduled a biophysical profile ultrasound for Friday, when I will be two weeks overdue, at a local hospital to check on Baby. The hope, of course, is that I don't make it to that appointment...
