I'm soooooo sick of my Front loader. I've changed my stash multiple times b/c it will not clean the diapers well enough and I'm about to have a baby (which means two in diapers) and I've had it. We're getting a top loader and I'm looking for advice. Please tell me what is your favorite and why!! Thanks so much!!!

Absolutely adore my mom's Fisher & Paykel. Huge capacity, and it gets all my dipes clean in one (admittedly long) cycle. I had a home birth a few weeks ago, and sent my sheets and laundry home with my mom, who washed everything without doing any stain pretreatment, and all of it came back clean, including one of DD1's shirts that had grape popsicle all over it.

We just got a new to us, but used F&P I like it minus the fact that it won't allow me to fill the washer with only hot water. This really bothers me, because I like to turn off the cold water when filling the washer for diaper laundry.. When you start the washer it will put hot water on the laundry a few times to "get them to the temperature" and then fill the basin with cooler water. Well when I turned off the cold water to try and get it to fill with only hot, it doesn't fill at all :/ I read the manual and this is how the washer operates on all cycles. I'm thinking about calling the company and asking if there is a way to get it to fill with only hot water. |

I have an LG Waves Series that I love. It's a HE TL and does great with our clothes and diapers. It has and extra water feature (called water plus) and has great capacity b/c it doesn't have an agitator. It also has a button which allows you to add up to two extra rinses to your wash cycle or just rinse and spin. It will do warm rinses with certain settings as well. I do have to turn off the cold water while it fills as it mixes cold with hot (I think nearly all of the new HE washers do this). I use original Tide liquid.

it!!! Yes, it uses more water, but because of that it is actually getting my dipes CLEAN. Plus, they are made in the USA and have a fantastic warranty. I can't recommend them enough!

I just got non-he GE TL last week and so far I love it. I didn't want or need anything too fancy but this has all the options I wanted and then some, plus it's super quiet. It was on sale for 569 at Sears.

Re: BEST washing machine??
Thanks for the recommendations. I think I'm going to have to get a non-HE to get my diapers clean!

I have a non-HE TL by Whirlpool & while I don't love it, it cleans diapers really well! So, if you don't mind possibly getting holes in your cottons, it's not bad.
It does have a lid lock & there aren't hot rinse options, but it uses water & is around $400-500. |
