HELP!! Rash appearing on CD baby bum
I've recently switched to Charlie's Soap for my cloth diaper laundry as well as my regular laundry because of the great reviews it had for CDing. Well I've noticed the last few days my LO is developing a rash of teensy red bumps on her bottom. That is the only thing I've changed. She is EBF with no new foods added to her diet or mine. Any suggestions on what I should do??? My current wash routine is cold rinse, hot/cold heavy duty wash with just a tsp of Charlie's soap, cold rinse with hydrogen peroxide for sanitizing followed by another cold rinse. I'm getting really frustrated with having to rewash all of her diapers over and over.

Re: HELP!! Rash appearing on CD baby bum
Honestly you can use anything on diapers it doesn't need to be special. If it works it's safe for CD. At any rate 1 tsp is not nearly enough to clean filthy diapers. I personally did not have success with Charlie's. I do know that some children get rashes from it. I would go back to whatever you were using if it was working. I switched from Charlie's to Tide Free and have been using it for years with great results.

Yep, if you were using something that worked before the Charlie's, I'd go back to it. We used Charlie's for a long time w/great results but we eventually had to switch. 1 tsp seems like an awfully small amount to me too. I used about twice that when I used it but we also have a water softener.

Re: HELP!! Rash appearing on CD baby bum
I'm about to wash them all over again. I'll try using the whole scoop. Did you use something in addition to disinfect? It says on the container that it's not intended for disinfecting.

Yes, lots of bleach at which point I decided to try something that I did not need a ton of bleach with it just to get clean. When I switched I did not need to use anything other than detergent when they were EBF to properly sanitize.
