When does bleach dispense?

So my FLer's bleach dispenser leaks the bleach into the detergent tray EVERY time and it drives me nuts! I told my mom and she said the bleach goes in with the detergent anyway so stop freaking out. I though it went in with the rinse cycle? I just want to make sure the bleach works.

With my machine (and a TL), the bleach is mixed in with the water filling the machine for the first wash cycle with the detergent. Bleach Is typically used with detergent. I'm pretty sure the fabric softener dispenser is the only thing released during the rinse.

Mine goes in with the wash cycle too... Just to be sure my FL has enough water before its in I add the bleach to my two buckets of water I put in the washer...
