Re: g diapers? . . . What do you think?

We have a few pairs and I really like them. We use PFs in them at home and sometimes use the flushables when we are out for an entire day or overnight trip. It's easier than bringing home a ton of dirty diapers!

The only thing I don't like about them is that they don't seem to wash as nice as my other diapers. Even after folding the velcro tabs back they ae starting to look really worn, and I've only been using them for a month. Other than that they are great. They hold messes well and when used with a PF are really affordable.

Re: g diapers? . . . What do you think?

We loved our gdiapers, I say loved because DS had outgrown the larges and they don't have Xlarge. My DH liked them so better than cloth since he liked the flushable aspect. Gdiapers entered us into the world of cloth diapering which we never (ever, ever, ever) would have tried otherwise so for that aspect they are totally awesome for converting people to cloth or at least to not filling the landfills with disposables. And they are cute.

I understand that they are more environmentally conscious than sposies, but what of flushing the toilet that often? My sis was trying to convince me that gdipes were better than cloth and I really don't think so...more water waste. That being said using them with prefolds sounds awesome!! Where do they hide out on FSOT?

Re: g diapers? . . . What do you think?

i love my g diapers. since i usually use cloth anyway, the infant prefolds work great as inserts when we're at home. since the flushable inserts are more expensive, i usually just save those for traveling or when i want a super trim fit under a special outfit. The nice thing about the flushables is that you can compost the wet ones, they're less bulk in a diaper bag and under clothing, and if you're not comfortable flushing them in an unfamiliar toilet - tossing them in the garbage is still better than tossing sposies. The flushables are also great to use at night - i cut a few in half and use a full one and an extra half in the front to give us some extra absorbancy.
Overall, I love that I can use cloth and flushables with them to suit my mood or outing.
The only complaint that I do have is the velcro is a little rough if not lined up perfectly.... but supposedly, the new ones have softer velcro and more elastic in the waist.
Good luck!
