how long did your kids use a straw cup?

thermos or otherwise in their lunch boxes? we have a couple of fogoo straw cups, and a funtainer, that ds, almost 5, uses sometimes. when he took his lunch to daycare, we sent his drink for snack in them, now he mostly uses them when we're gonna be out and about and want to keep his drink cold (we're in texas, lol) like when we go to sea world or something.

i read about kids taking them in their lunch boxes, adn thats what prompted this thread. he'll probably be going to pre-k this year, and taking his lunch. i work at a daycare, and get the huggies rewards point of the diapers and stuff that the parents bring in. the only think we can use right now off of there is another funtainer, but i dont want to get another one if he's not going to be using it very long, kwim?

My kids still use straw cups and my oldest is 13. They are really convenient and don't spill in lunch bags.

I think that most restaurants give you a straw for your cup as an adult.

so.... I'd say that straws and cups are not going out of fashion too quickly

Re: how long did your kids use a straw cup?

My kids never used the "must-have" contraptions LOL. They went from boob to regular sippy (we used the Klean Kanteen water bottles with the spouts) to an open cup by age 2. We have water bottles for out-and-about (they use the KKs with the twist caps or sport tops), but I see fancy drinkware as an extension of the fruit juice fad... We drink water, and occasionally raw milk. Herbal tea is served in a mug. DS takes his KK to school with water in it. One of his friends (they are 5) still uses sippy cups at home, drives me nuts, his mother spends way too much time cleaning all of those little parts!
