Re: Reflux
*hugs*, breastfeeding wouldn't stop it. Especially if it were from birth. It has to do with immature stomach valves. All babies have it to an extent, some just more so than others. It also tends to run in the family, her brother had it, my brother had it, etc. DD has had silent reflux since birth and at 3 months she's getting better. We did find that she had to be on nutramigen in the powder form to keep it under control. We tried a concentrate version of nutramigen and she was worse on it.
It's not your fault for not breastfeeding.

DS1 had reflux and I exclusively nursed. It just happens, don't beat yourself up.

If it makes you feel any better I am eb****** my dd and tomorrow we are going to the dr tomorrow bc it's pretty likely that she has reflux. Formula is not the cause of reflux and bf is not the cure, I wish it was a cure

Re: Reflux
All mine were breastfed and have/had reflux. It is normal and due to an immature GI tract.

Re: Reflux
when should you become concerned with the amount or frequency of "spottiness"?

Re: Reflux
What do you mean my "spottiness"? Spittiness? DD spit up after almost every feeding, and screamed for 6 hours every night. I didn't know it was excessive until I read a coupon for Enfamil AR that said "for babies who spit up a lot, more than 4-5 times per day."
