Hey remember a while back I posted about getting these funny brown stains on my dipes? Well I've kinda figured out what is going on for those who are also getting them....

I decided to put my overnight dipe (which was totally saturated) in my sink cause I had a funny feeling it had to do with the water and guess what? the water started turning a funny yellow brown color. So what I think is happening is the urea in the urine is reacting to my hard water with iron and causing the funky color. Then the funkiness continues when I dry it in the dryer it gets darker...so there you have it....I apprently need to move LOL!

Whoa, is that hard water? That happens to me sometimes, too. If I put my swimsuit that's been in the pool with chlorine, and I put it in the sink, the water turns yellow-brown....

Isn't there something you can put in the water to soften it?

Have your ever tried Calgon Water Softener? Maybe it would help!

Where I live, it does that to your TEETH.

yes calgon works a little but it's the iron in the water that's making it brown and calgon just won't cut it....we're talking about getting a big water softner. btw...this is city water no less
