Hello! I'm new round here. Having some concerns.
Hi there. I'm Lacey. Due December 20 with my second. Pretty excited about it. I've been dying to find a place i can discuss prego stuff without driving my friendd and family batty, so here i am!
Anyhow. I'm feeling a bit nervous. My first pregnancy did not go well. I had a short cervix at 19the weeks, preterm labor at 24, was on strict bed rest til labor could no longer be stopped at 35, then ended up with an emergency c- section with an inverted t incision. The kid (peter) was good sized and mostly healthy. Had to stay in the nicu for about a week because of jaundice (we had blood incompatibility issues) So of course I'm pretty terrified this time around. I dread bed rest and a pre term delivery. Dealing with that and a 4 year old would just be no fun. Now things are getting weird so I'm gettinf even more nervous. I've been having braxton hicks contractions off and on for a few weeks now and i haven't been concerned up til now. Starting this morning they've been nonstop any ime i stand. If I'm sitting or laying down I'm fine, stand up and my whole abdomen is tight as a drum and very uncomfortable. Sit down and it's gone immediately. I know bh are generally nothing to worry about, but all my history makes me extra paranoid. If it's still going on in the morning i will call my doc, but I'm so scared they'll recommend bed rest. Gah. I've got too much going on this week for that! And I've got 3 more weeks til I've been at my job long enough for fmla to apply! This is just giving me anxiety. So yeah, thanks for listening (as it were) I'm off to lay on my side and drink a quart of water. |

Aww mama! Welcome to our group! That's totally understandable why you would be nervous. As you know, try to relax. An anxiety attack won't help you or your family. Hopefully your body is just getting ready for labor in 4 months!

Re: Hello! I'm new round here. Having some concerns.
welcome. Take it easy. Even if you have to be on a bedrest, (Hopefully you won't) It won't last for ever, and meanwhile, try to make it as relaxing as you can make it.
I'm thinking since you get contractions, that might cause you to have to sit down often. Perhaps make a nice spot for you to rest and relax with books, a candle, and a footbath or something, then watch a tv show you like.
