Re: Low risk to high risk in 30secs. More info #10
OMG that is terrible and it is my worse fear. I had kidney stones when I was 5 weeks post partum with my oldest dd. I was so scared during my pregnancies that I would get kidney stones. That sounds so scary. When my stone was passing I was in total agony. It was the worse pain I ever experienced. I can't imagine it being stuck and not being able to do anything about it. I had some big ones in my kidneys that they crushed but you can't do that while pregnant. I think it is absurd they were giving you grief for seeking relief for stones while you were pregnant before and now. It is a lot worse than giving birth. I couldn't function. It makes sense that you want to be prepared for the possibility that the stone can move out of your kidney and cause you pain. You are in my thoughts. I hope that they stay in the holding pattern and if you need pain relief because the stone moved they are able to find something.

I think the stones are trying to say hello. I keep getting very short VERY sharp pain on my right flank.
At least they are just saying hello, I guess.

Re: Low risk to high risk in 30secs. More info #10
Well I finally looked at the CD of my digital U/S of my kidneys. I didn't know if it would work and I always felt like I was doing something wrong if I looked at it. But my OB wasn't sure his computer would accept the program and asked if I could email him the images.
Well I put the CD and it worked perfectly. I felt like I was seeing images that I shouldn't be seeing! So I looked and saw basically nothing (I don't understand kidney U/S's!) and then I saw that the tech had made marks on some images with a note at the side saying the sizes. Well I counted 8 total. You ready for the sizes? My largest when pg with DD was 7mm and that one HURT! The Right: 1.0cm 0.8cm 0.72cm 0.97cm The Left: 0.89cm 0.74cm 1.10cm 0.93cm And these images were done on 4/20, so over 3 months ago. I do not know if there have been any changes to the stones. If I remember correctly, U/S's can't find small stones so I might have a lot of those too. I am so screwed if they try to move.

Stay put, stay put!! My mom struggled with stones and has passed them at those sizes, so not impossible, but NO fun. How about an epi until you give birth!

I like that idea! Then they can take it out when I go into labor! I would give birth drug-free any day of the week instead of having a stone try to pass.

Re: Low risk to high risk in 30secs. More info #10
Well I saw my PCP today. He gave me the referral without any hesitation. I told him why I wanted the referral and he was just shocked that anybody could think that (me=drug addict). He said I am the LAST person he would think would be a drug addict.
He also told me that if I need any help at all with anything let him know. Now that lunch time is over I can call and get an appt! I am looking so forward to that first appt. I can tell the Pain Management doc about my stones, about my (lack of) ability to not process the narcotics well (I need more to feel relief). I also had a thought and didn't know if it was a good one. I read about the mom who is pregnant after cancer and she had a port-cath. Now that may be extreme but there is also a PICC line. Why did I think of that? Well from my last pregnancy I have had so many blood draws, IV, attempted IV's.... that my antecubital space has permanent scars. I assume somewhere in the hundreds in each arm. Well if I am going to have another pregnancy like DD's then I don't want to suffer each time I have an attack. If I have either of those then I won't need to have an IV put in or have blood drawn each time I have an attack. It also means I get IV fluids immediately and can even have them done at home if need be (dehydration is the worst for stones) as DH can help! I really hates kidney stones.
