This must vary state-to-state, because I'm 99% sure that isn't an option here in NC. However, the schools are required to provide special educations services to homeschooled students if they need them (like speech therapy, etc.).

Today I am taking my dd (11) to a few local thrift stores and we each have a list of the books from the fiar literature books list (bfiar, and vol. 1 and 2) and we are going to have a seat on the floor and SEARCH our little hearts out for these books! ( I do know the library is a good resource, but I'd really like to just have them on hand since the library is 30 minutes away!)

I have this great local friend who turned me on to Half Price Books! I was so excited to go and I did actually find two books from my list that I was looking for! I cant wait to go back and hunt another time. Unfortunately the store is just over 30 minutes from me so it wont be super soon, but I will go back!
