Re: mama cloth VS. diva cups?
If I were you, since you are small, I would try the Lunette in the size 1. I have one, even though I'm not small, and it's flexible and from what I've heard way smaller than the diva cup, and more comfortable. Sometimes you have to trim the stem, but I like mine. It is pricey, but I got mine in a coop on facebook so that helped some. If you found disposable pads gross, I don't know if I'd do cloth, as it doesn't wick away the moisture as much. (and I love mama cloth, but I think you might be disappointed)

I love my mama cloth but the cups scare the bajeebers out of me. I'm a huge chicken, lol. I want to use one but the poultry in me comes out full force.

Re: mama cloth VS. diva cups?
I just switched to a Diva Cup last month and am totally LOVING it!!! I hate pads and have a very heavy flow plus, I work an executive job and have to be super dressy at work and just couldn't imagine bulky pads showing through. It only took me a few tries to get used to the cup, and I am pretty chicken too! No cramps, no problems. I do need to wear a liner still, just in case it leaks - and I think I'll buy some cloth ones for that purpose.
Good luck finding a cup/pad option that suits you! Who knows - you might be surprised that the first one you buy works great.

Re: mama cloth VS. diva cups?
I actually use a combo. I use the Diva Cup with a cloth panty liner back up.
It's true that the mama cloth pads are more comfortable than the disposable pads.. but if you really don't like the "ick" factor of pads... then I would TOTALLY suggest the Diva Cup with a cloth liner as back up. FWIW, I was a tampon girl too! And I love the Diva with a liner as back up. I also like to use a "light" pad for my first days of spotting, and that last day of spotting at the end. God bless!

Re: mama cloth VS. diva cups?
Now I'm thinking about trying mc. I got a diva cup the month before I got my bfp, only tried it once and it hurt. Tampons are too drying and hurt me so I was hoping the diva cup would be great. Where can I get into a co-op for the meluna? Also I cd so I may be dumb but do you just wash mc with regular laundry? Seems like it would get blood everywhere and doesn't seem like there would be enough for a load?

Re: mama cloth VS. diva cups?
I think I first heard of menstrual cups here on DS. The Diva Cup was the only one I could find locally, and the price I think a couple dollars more than I'd pay on-line, so I went for it. I figured if I could just use it for a few cycles, it would pay for itself. I found that i really liked it, but it did take a while to get used to (maybe 2-3 cycles)- just like it probably took a while for me to be comfortable with tampons, I've just forgotten. I, too like a panty liner for backup and will use disposable or mc. I haven't purchased mc, just made some of my own, and so far I think I made them too thick for my backup purposes. Now that I'm pregnant, I'm a little out of practice, but I also found myself not wanting to have to "change" my cup when out in public, so you may just want to get comfy with your system, or think through what you'd need in the stall to make things a little more pleasant for when you have to change when out of the house. hope that helps, and good luck!

Re: mama cloth VS. diva cups?
I forgot to answer this the other day, but I'm finding the same thing that wigglers is. I've used the Diva cup for one cycle and loved it. I leaked like crazy with tampons, especially overnight, but never leaked once with a cup. I could also go through tampons by the hour for a day or two. I always, ALWAYS had to be close to a restroom (had to fly during my last AF...what a disaster
), but this time it was comfortable, easy, and it didn't leak. I've bought some MC, but it hasn't come yet, and won't be here for another cycle or two (bought during a coop), so I can't comment on that yet. A couple of things that I found with the cup, is they give you two ways to fold it when you insert it, either in half or kinda rolled into itself (which makes it much smaller, and therefore more comfortable for me), try the smaller way! Also, it didn't always "unfold" as soon as I inserted it, but as soon as I got up I could feel it "pop" open (felt just like a baby kicking you), it wasn't uncomfortable, just not something I knew beforehand. And last, it needs to be (for me anyways) quite a ways up "there" to be comfortable. They gave you all of these ways to insert it, but if you can start it, I just rock forward onto it (if that makes sense) rather than pushing it up there, and it was more comfortable to me. Once I thought I had it in place I'd wait just a second and it would settle and then I could see if I needed it higher or not. I didn't have cramping, but at first (maybe the first day or so) I could feel that it was there, after that I didnt notice it anymore. Thanks to the mamas that were so supportive and informative about them! You were totally right!

I also really like the Diva cup. I found that squating will also help settle it in place. (opens you up. )
