What do you all think of using a friend's pets name as a kid's name? I love Elliot - but it's the dog at daycare. I love Beckett... but it was a friend's dogs name (dog was only 2 and died about year ago with cancer). Would you feel weird using one of those?

I like Beckett better than Elliot.

I like Cora and Beckett! I like Elliot better and probably wouldn't worry about the dog reference.

I wouldn't feel weird. If it's a name you like then go for it! I like Beckett better as well

What made me think of the animal question was the cat's name at daycare is Cora

And... unfortunately, we named our Cat Toby, or we'd be naming a son Tobin.

Wow! So many great names. We haven't really even begun to talk about names, but probably because we already have at least one decided on. Our son didn't get his name until about 2 hours after he was born (it's Liam), so that gives you an idea on our priority on names.

We've decided to use family names as middle names. For the girl, I'm sure we'll go with Darcy (Darci, D'arcy) Jeanne. It was our carryover from pregnancy 1.

For the boy, I really like Micah Griffeth, but we had two that we considered for DS that we didn't use - Caellum (Kay-Lum) & Rylan(d).

I'm sure some more will come as we move along. Our last name is Jones, so we like to have a celtic-sounding hint to our kids' names.

Okay so I heard a name today that I have heard many times before but it just "clicked" today for some reason. For a girl I am now swooning over Lola. I have a list of names I love but none of them seem like the "right" name if it's a girl. But now I'm really leaning towards Lola I really hope DH will like it too!

Does Lydia Lillianna sound bad?

I love the name Lydia.
We give each child one name from a family member.
Dh's mom is Lillis Nan and her twin is Phyllis Ann. Ann has never been able to have children and I thought it would be nice to give one of ours her name, but don't want to leave MIL out either, so I thought 'Lillianna" would be a good way to represent both of them.
Of course this is all if we have a girl, which I ordered, LOL. I have no clue what we would name a boy, I have used all of my fav boy names.

Why to people do that to their twins? We have a set of twin girls a couple generations back named Corabelle and Laurabelle...seriously? My family wanted my girls to be Lilia and Julia (family names) but I thought it was kinda mean so they are Emma Julia and Grace Lilia. I love Lillianna, I wanted that name too. Why not just use that as a first name? Lydia is nice as well, it was in our top five list for this baby but Cora beat it out of the running.

We have been set on Lydia Ann, until I just now thought of going with Lydia Lillianna. Now, I am thinking of just using Lillianna like you said.
And you are SO right about the twin names! If I ever get blessed with twins they will have totally different names. I get our kids mixed up enough as it is! LOL
