Holding her pee?
My dd I think I can now call "potty-trained". She is full time in undies and anyway, I feel like she is not peeing enough! She's gone 4 times today (she's not yet sleeping, so I'd say 1-2 times more she will go). Is this a normal amount, or do you think she is holding it? If I ask her if she has to go potty she yells "NO!". She tells us 100% of the time when she has to go. She runs and yells "potty! potty!" and I say "ok, go!" LOL. I always help her, b.c she doesn't wipe, she just tosses the toilet paper in the toilet without wiping
Anyway, just wanted to see others opinions if I should try to "make" her go more, or if this seems a normal amount. I do not want her to get a bladder infection from holding her pee (if she's holding it, but how the heck would I know?). TIA!

Re: Holding her pee?
she seems to be drinking just like normal. She nurses 2-3 times a day, has juice with breakfast, milk with dinner, and water in her sippy all day long. I'd say that is refilled 2 or 3 times a day.

Re: Holding her pee?
That sounds normal to me, mama. My LO pees about that much, too. I wouldn't worry as long as her pee is a nice straw yellow color - not too dark. If it is dark, I'd say she needs more fluids; otherwise, she is doing great! Congrats on the potty-learning! Yay!

Re: Holding her pee?
Ok, thank you! I am glad it seems normal. Yesterday at the zoo she only went ONE time the whole time. She went before we left, but then only one time while there. I took her into the bathroom every 2 hours (we were there 6 hours), but only one time she went. But I think she was just so excited and didn't want to miss any action. Plus, she did not like the toilets bc they flushed automatically. The one time she went was in a family restroom, and there was a little mini toilet that did not automatically flush. Unfortunately, there wasn't those family restrooms everywhere. But since yesterday was not a typical day I am not going to worry.

Mine doesn't like automatic flushers either. You can cover the sensor with toilet paper.

Re: Holding her pee?
where exactly are the sensors? I know, such a dumb question, but I'd love to figure this out! Every single time the last few weeks that she has gone to a bathroom with automatic sensors, she will not go, and will hold it. The last time she fell asleep in the car on the way back and peed in her sleep (probably b/c she finally relaxed and had been holding it).

They can be different, and it's hard to say from memory, but sometimes it is a black square in the back area where the flusher would normally be. The ones at our mall are in the back right area. Sometimes you find out by trial and error. If you aren't sure where it is, just cover up the whole thing with lots of TP!
I know a mama who carries sticky notes in her purse to cover sensors. Can some other mamas help with this one? |
