Diaper Swappers

I've posted here a bit before, there are a few reasons (some really dumb, some totally valid) that I'm not sure I want to go for #4 and if we do go for it there are things I need to take care of first. Well, one of them (switching meds) I took care of today so I'm ok there but I need to go to the dentist and I want to get Aflac maternity insurance (you have to have it before you get pregnant I hear) and I would still like to lose some more weight (I've dropped over 50 lbs in the past year but still need to lose more) ANYWAY...

Dh and I decided that I'd stay off the pill until we decide if we want #4 (he does but is ok with not). We've been using condoms which I must say that I enjoy. We've never used them before but it is so nice to not leak all day after we dtd

. Dh doesn't mind them and we've had a great time trying out all the different types. Well I had a period a couple weeks ago and then the next week (last week) we were out of town and ended up being gone longer than we had planned and got a hotel room and well...he pulled since we had no condoms. Ok, no big deal. So two days later I got the sticky clear slimy stuff that means I'm ovulating. (Sorry, I don't know all the terms or whatever but I know this stuff means I am ovulating.) Great. What are the odds though, really? So then last night (yes, dh and I dtd pretty much daily) he lost the condom in me! Not lost like I had to go to the ER and have it surgically removed but it was in me and not on him. It is almost like we are being sabotaged!

The good news is we perfected a new position for us that I now refer to as the 'Olympic'.

Obviously if I did get pregnant it would be ok, but I want to make that decision...not have it made for me! So, calm me down here, tell me that pull and pray works great for you and that lost condoms seal in the contents so there is no chance for pregnancy. I'm just not sure we should have another baby yet and now I have to wait two weeks to make sure I'm not.

Well........ it's very possible. Sorry to tell you but sperm can live a while inside you so if you dtd two days before you O that is a good chance. As far as the condom inside situation... did any spill out? I'm not sure about that one. Either way I'm sure you will be testing in two weeks! Update us when you do

Thanks mama. We dtd pretty much daily so that should keep his sperm count down, right? So the odds either way have got to be pretty low. The only thing I can think of is that I read up on some swaying stuff because if we do have another I'd love to have a girl. All of that said to time it right before you O because the female sperm aren't as fast but have more endurance and the egg is up high so the boy sperm get tired and drop out of the race. I'm sure that isn't exactly as science would explain it but that is at least getting me a bit excited for the possibility. And if in two weeks AF comes and I'm upset about then maybe that will me decide for sure about #4, if I'm relieved completely for my period then I think I have my answer, ya' know. Thanks for waiting it out with me, I'll let ya' know in two weeks!

Don't know about counting on the low sperm count. My doc said that she only advises ttc couples to limit it to every other day if there is a known low sperm count issue. Otherwise she says daily is fine for ttc. Let us know how it goes!

so I'm not your girl but... Either way, it sounds like you are in a good place and technically you did make a "choice" with the pull and pray haha :good vibes: I hope that whatever the results in a couple weeks that you are at peace

My #4 was conceived the same way- I ovulated 3 days early and we had dtd 2 days before on day 9 of my cycle which normally would have been safe. I knew the instant that I was ovulating that I was pg and told dh and he was like no way! We had decided that we wanted another but would wait until dh graduated from school- he was doing clinicals at the time and was gone 7 days a week. DS4 was born 2 months before dh graduated.

Yeah I've read that for swaying also. It only takes on spermy so the chances are still there. Only time will tell

Dh did the CAN challenge (ya' know the diaper change one) and he changed ds3 in 2.58 seconds so I keep joking with him that he can change a diaper and get me pregnant in less than 3 seconds I really don't think I am. I knew right away with ds3, sore boobs were the first thing but then I just knew and I'm not feeling anything right now. We shall see!

Sorry, but I'm preggo with a surprise baby and don't feel any symptoms. We must have gotten preggo two says after AF ended bc we were careful with condoms, but that would be weird. Anyway... Anything can happen!

Condoms have a 14% failure rate with typical use. And that statistic is based on people using them all year - having no idea if they're even fertile on a given day. If you use them only on days of fertility, I would expect a higher pregnancy rate.
