One of those days. DS2 banged up his face, DS1 knocked a tooth out!
You know the days I'm talking about.. the day were every 5 minutes one of yoru kids is hurting themselves, or crying over something....
First, DS2 (4 1/2) was running around (I had told him repeatedly to stop) and he fell and smacked the side of his face on the coffee table.. as if that wasn't bad enough, it was the side that he just had fillings put into yesterday. And now he looks like he got punched in the face. Then about an hour, hour and a half later. DS1 (7) was acting crazy and jumping around. He landed wrong, lost his balance and smashed his face into the hard part of the couch, and knocked a tooth out. LOTS of blood. The tooth was so loose that I had no choice but to pull it out. I called the dentist's office, told them what happened, that it WAS a baby tooth, and that I wasn't sure if it was one that had previously been loose. Crystal (the receptionist) said that it would be best to bring him in just to make sure whole tooth came out. Thankfully, the dentist said that the tooth came out perfectly, so he suspects that it was already a little loose would have fallen out fairly soon anyway. His upper gums are bruised, and will probably be sore for a few days, but other than that he's fine. And of course my 2 1/2 yr old is having a clumsy day. *sigh* Oh and DH chose tonight to go hang out with his friend. I'm tired, I have a headache, and he asks me, at quarter to five if I mind if he goes over to his buddies, when the friend gets off work (at 5pm). I told him to just go because I'm already annoyed that he's asking after knowing the day I had, but if I said no, then he'd be sulky and moody all night, so to just go. I'm so ready for the kids to go to bed. I'm hoping DH gets home before bed time, 'cause I really don't want to deal with doing it. LOL Thanks for listening. God bless!

Big hugs to you mama! Hang in there! I like to celebrate challenging days like that with cookie dough- it doesn't change anything but it makes me feel better

Oh no
I feel your pain and hope your night is relaxing! So glad the tooth came out cleanly, though. We had one of those days/weeks in late June while DH was out of town. DS2 sliced his finger really bad on a tin can while we were baking, and after a trip to urgent care, glue, and a splint (they should have stitched it), the next night we went to a cub scouts barbecue and DS1 jumped off a play structure and chipped his two upper front teeth... and not twenty minutes later, a kid kicked DS2 in his injured hand and split it open again. We had two trips to urgent care and one to the dentist for DS1's teeth to be pulled.

Re: One of those days. DS2 banged up his face, DS1 knocked a tooth out!
Oh man, what a day! Today some mysterious substance covered the kitchen floor, except nobody knew it LOL. The baby and toddler were in there. I walked out of the kitchen for like 2 seconds and hear dh yell a cuss word (whoops!). I ran back into the kitchen and dh had fallen and almost broken his neck (ok, I'm being dramatic), from whatever in the world was on the floor. So the baby is like swimming in this stuff, she is covered head to toe. So we look at the toddler, thinking maybe she peed her undies, except she's dry. I thought it was baby food, b/c there was baby food on the table, but it was way too much liquid to be baby food. So we never did figure out what it was. Then my toddler starts yelling at my older girls who came out in all the comotion and she's yelling at them and holding her hands out going "careful! careful!". I'd never heard her say careful before LOL. Gave the baby a shower, then cleaned up the mystery substance, then laid down LOL. It was quite the drama! Just thought I'd share another crazy story.
Glad your boys are okay though-poor things!

My DS is just barely 2, but I can already tell we're going to be having some stories like this in the future. Why is it that little boys don't ever WALK - they either want to be carried or RUN everywhere....

Just wanted to say--my 7 year old son lost his 6th tooth yesterday, but it was the FIRST one that came out on its own. The other 5 have been knocked loose by furniture, friends, etc.

Re: One of those days. DS2 banged up his face, DS1 knocked a tooth out!
I have to say, having boys myself, that days like these are what makes me step back with my mouth hanging open saying "really!!!?!?!?"
DS1 smacked his foot into the corner of my dresser this week spinning around on our office chair, then went on to stub it on tables 5 times throughout the next day. smh This child will be lucky to not have a broken foot! My mom says what we save in clothes by not having girls, we will make up for and surpass in ER bills. Boy was she right!
