Whats Jelly Rolling?

Browsing through some old sticky threads and someone mentioned a style of folding a prefold and called it "jelly rolling". WHAT is that? and How does it look?

It is when you take the sides and roll them in like a jelly roll cake. It creates a barrier the poop has to get around for a leak. Done with a nice snug fit it can hold in ebf poop.

jellyrolling is when u roll the sides of the prefold in, instead of folding them. it creates a nice, tight "gasket" around the legs.

I bet it holds newborn poop great, but won't it leave marks or feel uncomfortable? My prefolds seem too bulky/fluffy for this.

This was the only way I could get diapers to fit right on my skinny little son and contain all his messes.



I used to have a link to a tutorial on how to do this but it's long gone. Maybe just do a search til you find it.

These are mama-made T-shirt PFs, BTW, so maybe not quite as thick as a normal PF but I jellyrolled with normal PFs too with great success.
