I am new here and I was wondering if there is a way to make posts and replies "private" or "members only"? I am wondering bc I am a member of a different mom site and when you Google my username, you can read every post and reply I've ever made on that site...and some things are private things I wouldn't want random acquaintances/nosy family members knowing! Please help!

I ran a few forums before (they've been closed for years) and a lot of the members requested this but once it was in place it killed the site. New members stopped joining and the old members stopped posting. Its a strange balance for a site owner to weigh the need for privacy and the SEO bringing in new members and after it killed not one but two of my forums if I ever decide to run another forum I wouldn't do it.

So if its really private I think DS has a "sensitive topics" sub forum you can subscribe to.

I think the only ones that aren't visible to nonmembers are in opt-in subforums like sensitive subjects.

if you have something more sensitive to discuss, you can request to join the sensitive subjects forum and that is NOT searchable...otherwise yes, it can be searched
