Favorite Birth Gift for Close Friends
What is you favorite gift to give close friends who've just had a baby?
Super-close friends, I like to make a month's-worth of frozen dinner meals. Cook them from scratch and freeze them so that they can be microwaved. I also make a nursing cover/burp cloth set and a baby blanket with baby's name embroidered on it. For close friends, a week's-worth of dinners and breakfast pancakes and the cover/burp cloth set. |

Food the first month. The 2nd month I'll go per to their house and watch the baby so they can nap- I feel thats when the no sleep insanity really starts to effect a person. Or come do dishes or something do my friend can have a wee bit of "me time".

I go over and clean for them, and watch the baby so they can take a nap.

Re: Favorite Birth Gift for Close Friends
I usually buy them a dozen Eli's Wipees (katedanzer on here). After baby is here, we generally take a meal.

I think meals are by far the best thing you can do. I know we really appreciated everyone who brought us meals those first few weeks!

Something that has made me sad is that not a single person I cooked meals for returned the favor. One didn't even thank me!!!

One of my friends gave me a gift bag of stuff to help me recover, so that's what I like to do. I include pads, a spray bottle, hemroid pads, nursing pads, and some chocolate.
Many times I'll do a meal too. That many meals! Wow. What a gift. I'll say thank you for your friend.
