Why did my Flip leak through??
Tonight after dd got out of the tub, I put her flip cover with a trifolded prefold on her....less that 30 minutes later, my couch was soaked...her diaper totally leaked through! It wasn't that she peed THAT much that the diaper overflowed, and it wasn't that the prefold was out of the cover, or anything like that. The flip cover/shell was actually leaking. I bought it from another mama on here, but it was a brand new one, and I've only been using them for about a week. What's going on? When I looked at it (still wet right off of her, but after I rinsed it in the sink), it looked like some parts were almost "see through" from the inside....not thread bare, or anything, but it was like the parts where the pee came out looked wet, and the rest didn't, even though I'd just soaked the whole thing under water. I stuck it in the dryer because I *thought* I read one time that sometimes PUL needs to be dried to seal up, or something? I had this same cover on her earlier today with no problems, and it had only been wiped out in between. I have washed them with bleach, as I was told was safe, but it is only a small amount, and in with the rest of the dipes. I always let them air dry, they've never been dried in the dryer before. Should I be using the dryer for them once in a while, and how often? Did I even do the right thing by tossing it in the dryer?

Is the pul missing in spots or cracked? If not, throw it in the drier.

Re: Why did my Flip leak through??
Is there any chance that the rise wasn't set correctly? Assuming that you don't see any missing chunks of the plastic-y lining on the inside of the dipe, I suspect that you may have had a leak from one of the legs. It might have been fine earlier, but she could have peed while in a different position and had a gap that it could run right out of. I have bleached and run my Flips through the dryer multiple times, I suspect they might wear out a little sooner than they would have otherwise but they're fine now.

Re: Why did my Flip leak through??
I tossed it in the drier, like I said, and I've used it once since the leak, and had no problems that time. There are definitely no cracks or missing spots in the PUL, and I always keep it on the highest rise....just guessing it needed sealed? I really don't know, the leaks were on both sides and on most of the bottom of the dipe...
At least it seems to be okay now, hoping this doesn't become an issue! Thanks so much for your input, ladies!
