Norah is having surgery for her tongue tie

Tomorrow at 8:45am Norah will have her tongue tie clipped. We are not sure of the extent just yet but it isn't the normal "heart shaped" tongue issue...it's more complicated. prayers appreciated!

Update.. Not done today. Wrong dr. Appt is now Thursday morning with the proper expert, as she has a posterior tongue tie.. Not a tight frenulum on the tip.

I've been stalking this thread to hear how she did. I guess her surgery is tomorrow, so I'll be waiting for an update. How is nursing going (if you are?) How did you discover the tongue tie? My Daniel had the heart-shaped tongue tie which I discovered in the hospital. They clipped it without any anesthesia and he didn't even cry:-) Nursing is going much better. Hope the surgery goes well.

She "nurses" but there is no real latch so I have to hold her so the milk will go down her throat so she can feel it and then swallow which isnt working well either at the moment. It should all be better after today. She has a Posterior tongue tie and I just had a feeling after Sarah mentioned hers with Charlotte (I believe). Norah can't lift the back of her tongue up to suck properly and an ibclc found it for me when my midwife begged her to see me free of charge because something was really wrong with my baby after being very dehydrated 1 wk after birth. I have milk and am pumping but I've been using donor breastmilk as well. Will update after surgery today. It is done in office with an expert dr here in south Florida and if all goes textbook we should be nursing swimmingly by lunch time!

Tongue tie no more!! The dr cut the band around her tongue and we are nursing now! Amazing!
