I have both and liked them both about the same, but I agree with the previous poster. With my medela I would turn the oval rubber piece at the top and the suction would get stronger.

I believe they are. I know if I use the starter side to get the milk flowing that it works pretty well, but when I switch to the other pump it's just not that great. Maybe it's because I combo feed? I did essentially relactate. I remember vaguely using it with DS though and it was just as irritating. Someone I know sold me an ameda purely yours unused for 45...I think that might work much much better.
