All schools on base here start at 7:25. Way too early for 5 & 6 year olds IMO.

School start times in my town are screwy. If you go to traditional calendar elementary school, it's 7:30-2:30. Year round elementary school is 7:40-2:40. Middle school is also 7:40-2:40. Jr high is 8:35-3:35 and high school is 8:55-3:55 and they have the option of zero hour (starting and 7 something and getting out at 2 something.)

My DD's school is 8:20-3:30 for 1st-12th grades. (PS-K get out 15 minutes early.)
The public my mom lives in (2 towns over) school is: All 5 Elementary Schools 8:10-3:00, Junior High 7:30-2:30 & High School 8:20-3:30.
I have no idea the schedule for the local public school, although it appears the one kid in our neighborhood gets off early on Wednesdays.

I don't remember my times when in school but DD's this year is 7:50 start and 2:45 end.
