Pregnancy After Loss (Aug 16-31)

Last night I had 2 of the most disturbing dreams that I was having a m/c In the first one, the baby came out looking like a tiny newborn (4 inches or so) and had all of the features of a full term baby and it was so sad, I still feel sad about it Then I continued to have crazy dreams....in one of them, I was bleeding a lot and they told me I was m/c but then did an ultrasound and things were fine, and then told me that it was really a m/c.

I hate m/c and m/c dreams....

I had a dream about m/c last night too. They suck. A lot.
You're description of your dream reminded me of my Elliana, though - she was a bit longer, 8", but that's what she looked like; a teeny tiny newborn.

I hate those. I had them all night long Thursday night in anticipation of my appointment Friday. I finally just got out of bed early so I could stop having nightmares!!

I was talking to a good friend of mine last night who knows I'm pregnant. I told her about my concerns with the measurements and things, and she asked why they don't do a higher level ultrasound if they're having such a hard time seeing the bean on a regular u/s. I said that I had no idea, but I get charged a copay for an office visit every time I go in, and the entire clinic just seems to bleed you dry and tries to sell you all sorts of services and products and stuff -- so I imagine if they HAD even the slightest medical reason to do a higher level (more $$) ultrasound on me, they would do it so they could bill my insurance... and that made me feel a little better.

Interesting you say this, I'm not sick really at all. More so just indigestion than nausea and I wonder if it's a boy since I was definitely sick with my girls.

I don't know for sure that baby's gender has made my m/s worse or not, but it sure seems that way
With Ruthie and Elli I was so sick - like laying on the coach not able to move cuz I would puke, sick. With all the boys I just had a little queasiness, not every day, and not until late afternoon or evening. With the girls it did seem to kick in or worsen as the day wore on, too, but it was just overall worse than with the boys.
Unfortunately, with Elli's pregnancy, I missed out on a lot of just everyday life with everyone, because of laying on the coach feeling sick... and honestly I really regret that now, because I feel like it wasn't worth it. This time, even if I'm sick like that (like I was the other day) I'm forcing myself to stay up and doing things with the kids. I won't miss out on months with them again.

My morning sickness has been very similar to my son's pregnancy....which would make sense since we had beeing trying to avoid getting pregnant this time around until we had a last minute change of heart the day I ovulated (good chance for a boy!).

With my girls, I threw up at least twice with each pregnancy....but with my son, I never threw up, and the morning sickness was worse in the evening.

I broke down and took some extra strength Tylenol tonight. My head is pounding and my allergies have flared up big time. I have a hard time taking meds when pg, esp after last fall when I took Sudafed pretty much daily during the entire 1st tri (aug-oct) because my allergies were so bad I could hardly breathe or sleep. I'm still not sure Colton's abdominal defect wasn't cause by that (or the stupid flu shot I got).

We did it!



We finally picked names! I can't believe how much more positive I feel about this bean now that we have names picked out! It's literally like I've finally accepted this pregnancy and am able to feel.....HOPE! And with less then 4 weeks to go!

Here's what we picked...

Andrew John - God is gracious to man
Lydia Hope - A noble hope

I love the meaning of both names (especially after our losses), they go perfectly with the other kids names, and (most importantly) we both AGREE on them! To seal the deal, DH thought of both names, so that means that I picked out DS & DD2's names and DH picked out DD1 and this baby's names...two names each! When I told him that he said "hey, we *can* play nice together"!

We'd never even talked about Lydia before....I'm rather biased against it thanks to Jane Austen....but for some reason when DH mentioned it and I looked up the meaning I just loved it!
