I haven't ordered yet. Are you leaving rings on or taking them off after processing? Wondering if the rings need to stay on or can they come off like the disposable lids?

You put the plastic lid and rubber ring on and barely tighten the metal ring before putting in the boiling water. After the jar has been processed---remove from water and tighten metal ring tight. When jar has cooled remove metal ring and store.

Just like the disposables. I went ahead and ordered the sample pack thats a one time 10% and it still let me use the 5% from the blog so I got 15% off. Now just waiting on them to get here.

So how much did the sample pack cost then? I'm debating if I want to try them. But the cost is holding me back.

It was 3 dozen each wide mouth and regular mouth with the rubber rings. 10% price is 52.95 with free shipping. With tax and my additional discount (code= 100days) it was 53.48. So like .75 a lid. I am so dissapointed - I went to order them a while ago and they wanted like $35 to ship three dozen to Canada. Sorry, no thank you. Really wanted some too, but not at that price.

OK, I broke down and I'm going to give these a try. Hopefully I'll be a fast learner with them. I just have to remember that there will be no beautiful "ping" coming from them.

Question- do these "pop" the same as the regular lids when not sealed? Meaning do the get "pulled down" in the middle of the lid the same as if canning using the regular lids?
