Thanks! This has always been a major peeve of mine too. Every time I see that little "Out of my hands, not my responsibility" disclaimer, I cringe.

I haven't read all the posts so someone may have mentioned this but:

A few people have mentioned that it is NOT common sense that the seller is responsible for the package until it arrives at the buyer BUT in the regular business world, that is just not true. This isn't limited to paypal. Just last week, I had a package at work arrive damaged with the contents destroyed (the tiny vial with a very small amount of fluid was cracked and anything that may have been in it leaked out) and the company replaced it. This is a standard of business. Now, I understand that a WAHM business can't afford to replace products left and right but as someone else said if you can't afford to replace the item, buy the insurance

This is true. My OP was about Paypal policies but you are right; customer service has standards.
