Re: Can you feel your fundus?

Not stupid! Fundus is the top of your uterus. Most OBs/MWs will measure it from your pubic bone every appt and you should roughly measure one cm for every week along you are. Towards the end of DS pregnancy mine was way off and none of the OBs I saw (5 of them in that practice) even cared so I am not sure how telling it is.

Mine seems about 4-5 fingers high...if I'm feeling what I think I am.

I have really skinny fingers, btw. (My ring size is 4.75!)

Yay

I tried again today and I don't know what I'm feeling. Organs. Possibly uterine. Possibly something else

I am always in maternity pants by 6wks! This time I'm getting away without them because I've gone skirts and capris that are stretchy, kwim? When it cools and I need to wear jeans, I'll definitely have to dig out the mat stuff

although they don't start measuring it until close to 20wks. Before that it's not accurate. (just in case anyone was expecting it done at earlier appts!)
I found a good fundal height chart a few years ago... here it is...

I haven't tried to feel for anything yet. I'm still in slight denial about this pregnancy, I think. And I have no desire to be pushing on my belly right now!

Re: Can you feel your fundus?

This may be TMI***

With my second son I kept feeling what I swore was my fundus. It wasn't. Zofran makes me really constipated and all I was feeling was backed up poo

Hehe

Time to try again, I guess. Hmm... I still don't know. There's a hardish part that I can feel, but I have no clue if it's my uterus.

Re: Can you feel your fundus?

I'm still feeling like not wanting to push on my tummy yet! But at 11-13 weeks, your uterus should "pop" out of your pelvis and should be able to be felt much easier.
