Some recent research shows that waiting to introduce peanut butter increases the chance of allergy.

If your family doesn't have a peanut allergy already, I wouldn't wait.

That is what I have always been told. Which is why I started giving it to her before. She defiantly likes it! And there isn't a peanut allergy in the family

Re: What can my 10 month old NOT eat??

Yup, we've been feeding our 6 month old "adult" food, basically everything we eat, except for things with sugar added, and yeah, straight honey. I would probably be fine with a little peanut butter (like Rama Chicken or some other peanut sauce dish) because there are as many studies showing early exposure is good as that it's bad.

That said I did have a "am I a bad mom?" moment today while feeding our baby some quinoa leftover from dinner last night. After he'd had a few spoonfuls I remembered that I cooked the quinoa with at least half a cup of red wine (there was a lot of quinoa). I know there are some moms who would totally flip out at that. lol. But, I mean, it boiled for at least 15 minutes, and how else will he develop his pallet?

What about cows milk if it's in cooking? Was wondering this tonight as gave dd a small amount mashed potatoes.

totally fine

you can even give the baby straight up cow's milk if you want, but there's no reason to do so since formula or breastmilk should be the primary 'drink' up to a year.

pretty sure my child had bites of my cereal in milk under a year.

Honey would be my answer. Mine had peanut butter, strawberries, citrus (citrus allergy runs in my family)....had everything. No problems at all.

We steered clear of honey, egg whites, peanuts, and cows milk.

This is what our pedi says also. My ODD does have a nut allergy (more than one nut and some seeds) and even though she does our pedi still does not recommend waiting too long with the baby.

Nut butters were my kids favorites at around 5 months and as for honey, I gave them raw organic honey and elderberry when they were around 3 months if they had a cold. I feel that as long the honey is raw and the nut butters are organic, their bodies can digest them.
