Does anyone remember me posting a few weeks back in the weekly chat thread about my genital skin tearing because it's so thin... and constantly being itchy...

Well, after talking with the midwife today and then doing LOTS of reading tonight online, I think I have a new diagnosis...
Lichen Sclerosus

Doesn't that sound like fun?

When I was at my appt today, she said call to set up an appointment with the next flare up - but then tonight I was piecing together information and this is what it adds up to. So, Monday I'm going to call and tell them this is what I think it is and see if they agree.

Not sure what can be done for it during pregnancy and I've found nothing online that gives any insight.

I do remember u mentioning that...sounds terrible! Hopefully something they can do..seems like that could complicate giving birth..having the skin so thin, and tearing easily. best wishes on getting some relief!

I don't know much about it. However, there was something on discovery or tlc I can't remember which and a woman had it. I don't know if there is much that can be done. Lots of hugs. I hope you can figure out what it is and get some relief.

I think the TLC woman had generalized vulva pain - not the itching and the ripping skin, that info keeps popping up in google searches, but it's a different condition.

I posted this in the regular pregnancy section too... hoping someone else has some insight.

Edit: I take that back - just found some sort of video that looks like a doctor with some bit about LS that was on TLC... I'll have to watch it later!

TLC definitely did a show with a woman who had Lichen Sclerosus! that's the only way i knew what you were talking about in the thread title, because i remembered it! i do remember her having itching and especially ripping because i thought that sounded so horrible! i think it was on Strange Sex. i'm so sorry mama! i hope you're able to get some relief somehow!
