Has anyone made gluten free cake pops?
Just wondering if anyone has tried this? Wondering if the pops will stay on without the gluten to provide structure? Basically, will they fall right off the stick?

Re: Has anyone made gluten free cake pops?
You can make them without gluten just fine. We are GF, DF & a few other "frees" due to allergies & I experiment & make SO many things & we don't miss out on any of the "goodies" that we used to once I started experimenting.
You could use a premade mix that's GF, but since we don't do dairy or added sugar, it makes it difficult for me to find something premade. I do think that almond meal/flour holds up great for cake/cake-like items. Also, if you use eggs or xanthum gum, it seems to keep things "together" better for me. GL!

I haven't tried these but will attempt soon... Ds2 CAN have gluten, but not eggs, dairy ect. FWIW you mix the crumbled cake with frosting & that is what gives it more of the sticky texture to stay on the stick, or so I believe.

Re: Has anyone made gluten free cake pops?
We've been dying to try this! We need gluten-free and egg-free, so I've been worried that they won't hold up. I was thinking of getting one of those inexpensive cake pop machines that molds the little balls, but not sure if it was worth it.

Re: Has anyone made gluten free cake pops?
Thanks for the advice and encouragement. Maybe I will do. Test batch before the birthday party so I don't have unfestive looking fallen cake balls instead of cake pops!

Re: Has anyone made gluten free cake pops?
I just saw cake pop molds at walmart on sale - I'm sure having the molds would help. They are just like cup cake pans but for cake pops
