DS was a champ nurser from birth but my nipples cracked and bled and recracked for weeks. I had engorgement, oversupply, clogged ducts. I had to pump through my initial letdown to not drown my son, then nurse him, then pump again. All of this every hour and a half. By time I finished my routine it was usually time to start again. Even with a correct latch, nursing didn't stop being painful to me until DS was 2mos old.
My doctor offered remedies to cut my supply and suggested formula. Mil complained that life would be so much easier if I just "formula fed like everyone else." Dh tempted me with more sleep and a few pain free hours if I'd let him feed just a "formula bottle or two a night." But we made it! 3.5mos and counting Every little roll? I made it from scratch. What we call his "monk hair," that ring of really long hair in back? I grew it. His fat toes and his huge hands? All me.Thanks ladies for being my only support when I needed it. ![]() Sent from my Galaxy S III using DS Forum
