WWYD: hitting head

DS just hit his head on the wall (drywall) and he cried for 2 minutes then was done and is not running around. It was pretty hard and I am afraid to let him take his nap now. Should I be concerned or am I over reacting?

Is he acting different? Did he put a hole in the drywall? Does he have a goose egg?

Re: WWYD: hitting head

Just wanted to say that my daughter randomly fell off of a chair onto a lightly carpeted concrete floor the other day; she smacked the back of her head on the ground. She stopped crying after a few minutes and acted normal, so I just observed her closely and she was fine. I think that the area of the head makes a difference; the back and front of the head are more resilient and protected than the sides and bottom of the skull.

Re: WWYD: hitting head

My sister has had a couple concussions and been in hospital. All they do in the hospital is wake them up every hour. You could probably do that during nap time if you are worried. But when she's had concussions she would turn very very pale, would be unable to stay awake and usually throw up.
