You should start a AP playgroup. That is what we've done to stay connected with the AP/crunchy moms in the area, as well as meet new AP/crunchy moms.

call it rhythm, call it a schedule - it's the same thing.
I realize you rely on your feelings rather than the clock, but that doesn't change the fact that you can very easily say 'well, we need to go' or 'well, it's time for us to clean up now (if they're at your house)'.

It's just a matter of feeling comfortable enough about your needs that you can assert yourself.

I assure you, your friends likely see you getting stressed out. If anyone is in tune with anyone else, it's pretty obvious when a person is getting distracted and pulled away from the flow of easy conversation. It's better for everyone to have honesty rather than building agitation and distance from people we geniunely like.

I don't think there's anything wrong at all with starting clean-up and saying, "well, its been tons of fun having you over, but I've got to get lunch made and kids napping. Would you like to meet up again next week?"
