Re: getting a bit concerned, help me not be paranoid

Well, the concern is not so much labor itself, rather that I am a bit early for it to be labor.

In any event, I called them about 3:50. Explained the situation, the nurse talked to the doc and then called me back. She called back about 10 after, I had a contraction right about 4 on the dot before she called.

What she said was that right now right at about 3 per hour, keep resting and hydrated. She said if they get to where they are at 4 per hour and they stay that way for 2 hours, to call the office line and get the on call number (they close at 4) At that point, the on call doc in L&D will have me come in for an early labor check, just to make sure the contrax aren't doing anything.

She also said if they stay consistant at 3 per hour all night long and into tomorrow, to give them a call back and that they will probably have me come in tomorrow morning just to be safe.

Re: getting a bit concerned, help me not be paranoid

I have a "cranky" uterus that contracts with BH consistently from early on too. I have days like this where they are in a "regular" pattern. I agree that if you sleep through the night and still continue on you may just want to go in and get checked. I would just wait mine out but my husband works from home and we are having a homebirth so things are different for me.

When's your EDD? Mine is the 15th. I hope you have some more time to bake that baby.

The 19th. I have been consistantly early with all three of my others, 3 days, 3 days and 10 days (induced) so I don't think I am going to make it till the 19th. I am shooting for the 11th, but I want to at least make it to October.

Ultimately since I do contract a lot anyway, the likelyhood really is that it's nothing, or just prodromal labor...not that I want to be doing THAT for a whole month. But, I just get nervous
