Oh don't worry, I have been and will definitely be making the decision myself, I just thought it'd be nice to have some input from people I "know" regarding what they love about their wheels (or don't for that matter) but whatever.

Stocking pattern I'm hoping to use for ours. I think they'll look nice on the white fireplace http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/libr...stmas-stocking

But it's so individual. And really even as many as Mindy has had we haven't even made a dent in how many wheel choices there are. The matchless is not a starter wheel, at all. I started with it and while I never spun I knew what I was getting before I got it. I am also super experiences with wools and yarn along with other crafting so spinning was not a stretch for my hands to pick up. It might not be so easy for others? Idk. Also you need to look into taking a lesson to make sure this is something you are going to like. If you think knittin is a slow hobby, spinning will drive you mad.

Mindy and I have already posted about how much longer it takes to spin than knit and that's if you have a good fiber. If you get super compacted fiber it's really maddening.
