Okay, that's what I thought you meant. Just wanted to make sure that I understood correctly. I've had little aches and pains as well, and I am almost positive that I have a normal pregnancy as well. We'll find out on Wednesday! At 4 weeks the fetus is still pretty much just a ball of cells, and I don't think it'd be big enough to cause any pain.

It sounds like the RLP I get - I have one specific spot on my right side that just screams when it's stretching! Ouch!

If it continues or worsens, I would get things checked out. But if it's just once in a while, when you move a certain way, I would chalk it up to RLP.

RLP could be it, I forgot about that in the first trimester.

Re: How soon would one get symptoms of an ectopic pregnancy?

Thanks for all the replies! I haven't felt anything today. And so with that, and with what others have said, I'm not really worried at this point. I guess I've been lucky, but I don't think I've ever had RLP, so that might be what it was! But, if I continue to feel pain, I'll go in.

I didn't have slight pain initially with my ectopic, I just knew something was off. My stomach was really poochy even though I could have only been a few weeks or so (less than 6? maybe 8?) I was also having some weird spotting--not quite a period, but enough to need a pad. We had just gotten back from a vacation when I woke up the next morning in extreme pain. Went to the ER and my regular OB happened to be on call and did a laparoscopic surgery that day. My poochy stomach was from blood and fluid pooling in my uterus. I'll spare you the other details.
Marvelous, I was surprised to read this though. You had blood pooling in your abdomen before you had any pain? So can you not really even feel an ectopic pregnancy until it's already dangerous?
