BLW Veggies
I need help with veggies for Rayne, 6 months today. She does great with banana, peaches, apples, pears, and today she had a pluot (part plum part apricot) i sometimes give her raw carrots, but she doesnt really eat it it ia just good for teething. Green beans and peas are too small for her to grab. I think we will try brocoli tonight or tomorrow. My family doesnt do many veggies but we.are tryi.g to get better.

I hit send too soon. She also enjoys toast, pizza crusts and pancakes. Just not sure with veggies, as my family has never been that good about eating them.

Peas and corn are great for developing the pincer grasp. I know they're small and hard, but since she doesn't NEED to eat solids until she's 1, it's more about practice anyways.

Re: BLW Veggies
We do roasted veg spears--sweet potato, zucchini, carrot--just put them on a cookie sheet in a 400 degree oven. And broccoli I steam, those "trees" are perfect for grabbing. We haven't done much more than that. . .I'm thinking the winter squashes and pumpkin will be good. I almost gave her beet, but wasn't quite ready for her to be dyed red! But she's also gotten good at picking up smaller pieces faster than I would have guessed. We also do carrot and cucumber and green beans raw, but more for teething and playing.

Re: BLW Veggies
Our DD loves grilled or sauteed bell peppers and onions, zucchini, asparagus, chard, broccoli. Oh and corn on the cob.

Re: BLW Veggies
Are you giving them to her plain or seasoned? My LO loves veggies that are seasonedbut doesn't really like them plain. Maybe try roasting veggies with a little broth and seasonings. Try zucchini, carrots, eggplant, cauliflower, beets, sweet potatoes... pretty much any veggie is good roasted.
My LO also really likes greens (think turnip or mustard) and will gum them, if they're cut right. |
