9 month old soooo constipated on similac sensitive

my 9 month old gets incredibly constipated on similac sensitive. I add 1 tsp caro syrup to one bottle a day, give her a couple ounces prune juice as well. still constipated.
I tried to switch her to a formula with lactose in it this past july, and she couldn't tolerate it (she threw it up several times, threw up to the point that it came out her nose). Any suggestions???

I was just reading about people adding children's probiotics to their babies formula to help keep them regular.

Try nutramigen. It makes breast milk poo, my ds is 4 and we are still battling the constipation. Our only peaceful poops were the year on nutramigen.

Re: 9 month old soooo constipated on similac sensitive

I put up to 4 oz of juice in bottles throughout a day. When DD went on antibiotics, it screwed with her system. She had diarrhea and when she went off of the meds she got even more constipated. I switched from pear juice to apple prune with no effect. Finally the doctor said to put 2 teaspoons of Karo in two bottles a day (in addition to the juice.) I ended up putting 1 teaspoon in four bottles a day (unless she pooped that day.)

Also, in regards to switching formula, just keep trying every now and then. We would buy the ready made formula and try every month or two. She only just switched about a month ago.

Oh, once she switched to regular formula, she was far less constipated... although, in the past week it's been rearing it's ugly head again. Huh, and she is just off of antibiotics too. Interesting.
