Re: Shoes
Lately my little one (5 yrs old) has been growing wicked fast, so I'm keeping the shoes to a minimum:
1 pair cowboy boots (that she HAD to have *eye roll*) 1 pair pink converse 1 pair pink slip ons 1 pair white tennies 2 pair flip flops but the weather is making those unwearable. I need to buy her some snow boots. My teen has: 1 pair boots 2 pair flip flops 3 or 4 slip ons 1 sandals 1 converse

Re: Shoes
I actually just started minimalizing drastically in this area....I've cut down each child's shoe collection to 2 pairs -- one pair closed-toe sandals (Keen or Merrell) and one pair casual dress shoes. DD has an extra pair of dress sandals/Mary Janes because she wears dresses to church a lot. That doesn't count rain/snow boots.
It was extreme, especially for me because I'm a shoe girl. But I was just getting SO sick of having to trip over their shoes and everything. I'm making myself stick with this for an entire year and then I'll see how it went and adjust their shoe collection from there. It's been going really well so far.

Re: Shoes
My DS is pretty young, not in school or anything, so he doesn't need Gym shoes, etc. He has one pair of everyday shoes which are usually some kind of sneakers, and then when seasonally appropriate a pair of sandals, rain boots, or winter boots. I don't get him dressy shoes because I figure on the rare occasion that we need to dress up for something it doesn't really matter if the 2 year old is wearing sneakers, kwim?

Re: Shoes
My older 3 have 2 pairs each, mostly because they are in school and need to wear sneakers to school but they like to wear other shoes when not at school. The girls each have a pair of sneakers and a pair of mary-janes. My oldest boy as a pair of sneakers and a pair of sandals. My youngest 2 each have 1 pair. DS2 has a pair of stride-rite sneakers and DS3 has a pair of robeez type shoes.

Re: Shoes
We all have a pair of sneakers, Crocs, rain boots, and snow boots. I also have a pair of dressy flats and a pair of moccasins. The boys don't have dress shoes since we really don't go anywhere formal enough to require them. We also really only wear shoes away from home - when we are in the house or in the yard we go barefoot.

My older girls have a pair of sneakers (for PE or other physical activity), flip flops, dress shoes and a pair of school shoes. My 2 y/I has a pair of sneakers, crocs, dressy sandals, and I think that's it. The baby has a pair of Robeez but only has worn them once. Looks like she will be walking soon so they'll start to get more use.
Now me.. I have a pair of merrell barefoots that are my favorite! I wear those to work a lot. I also have 2 pairs flip flops, crocs, teva sneakers, teva sandals, Mary Jane style crocs (3 pairs-different colors), and 2 pairs of black flats that are too small so I think they'll go to dd. Dh has a billion shoes. More than me even lol!
