My 2nd cs I had a terrible time breathing. I coughed through the whole surgery. I probably wouldn't have had the trouble if I didnmt have prepneumonia.

Re: Difficulty breathing during c-section?

Yes, I did. I had to have oxygen during my c section because I was so scared that I started hyperventilating.

It happened to me but I told the anesthesiologist I was feeling a shortness of breath and in seconds it was gone, he said its the blood pressure dropping. He gave me something to bring it back up and it worked immediately.

Re: Difficulty breathing during c-section?

With this c-section, I was numb from the shoulders down and I had trouble breathing, I was so nauseous but was too numb to through up. It was horrible and scary. I had oxygen and tried deep breaths but being so numb it was hard.

Re: Difficulty breathing during c-section?

Had my first (and hopefully ONLY) c-section Monday. My anesthesiologist didn't warn me but the heavy chest/can't breath feeling hit after baby was taken out. She said my numbers were fine, it is normal, take deep breathes, but it was HORRIBLE. I am tearing up thinking about it again. I started to have minor convulsions/choke but kept trying to take slow, deep breathes. She said it could last the rest of the time it took to close me up but it was maybe 5 minutes Thank God. I did not have oxygen and those 5 minutes were the worst physical aspect of the c-section itself.

They gave me oxygen during that and it wad WAY worse with my first section then my second. My second was great as far as surgery goes. I actually fell asleep while thy were stitching me up (baby was in NICU so I didnt have any reason to stay awake). My entire CSection experience was 10x better the second time. (It wasnt planned either. I had already had a successful HBAC, but this guy wasball wrapped up.in his cord and it was needed at the time)

Sent from my phone, excuse any typos.
