I had a 9 1/2 lber and active labor was about 6 hrs, did have some shoulder dystocia briefly that Gaskin manouver released (born @home). My SIL had an almost 12 lber that practically fell out of her LOL I think it really matters on the pelvic outlet of the mother (which her position during labor and delivery has a lot to do with)

My first two were on the smaller side (8# and 8#6ozs). DD3 was 9#11oz. Contrax started afternoonish. I only spent 4 hours at the birthing center before she was born early the next morning, and pushed for maybe 10 minutes.

Re: If you had a 9/10/11lb baby, how long was your labor?

Daughter was 8lbs6oz, induced for 15 hours, c-section after getting to a 1cm and pre-eclampsia.

Son was 11lbs 9oz, half hour shy of 72 hours (at home, transfer to hospital, got epi around hour 68, VBAC).

Hoping I find a good doctor for this baby, I would SO choose an induction over c-section or a three day labor...

Re: If you had a 9/10/11lb baby, how long was your labor?

Oldest was 8.12 - labor was TOTAL 2 hours.
Middle was 9.4 - labor was 13 hours, total (induced)
Youngest was 10.1 - labor was 5 hours, total (induced)

Currently pregnant. Hoping I do NOT have a 10 1/2 or 11 lb baby. Not sure that I could do that and avoid a c-section.

Re: If you had a 9/10/11lb baby, how long was your labor?

# 1 was 9 lbs 2 oz, induced about 7pm Sunday night, labored, pushed, and ended up in a c-section at 5 pm Monday. Baby was sunny side up.
#2 9lbs 2 oz, c-section
#3 8 lbs 12 oz, c-section

You already have a proven pelvis, why worry about csection?

Because doctors are too quick to push it (laziness, maybe), and honestly... I've proven my pelvis for 10.1 lbs, not 11+... so it just makes me nervous. Obviously I will do what I can, and a section would only be in case of an emergency... but a baby being too big to come out, is kind of an emergency.

I'm not a big girl... about 5'5, 120-130lbs NOT pregnant... so I'm just unsure of how far I can push my body, and how big of a baby I'm truly capable of having.
