Annoyed at church member regarding her statement to me on BFing....Advice?

Thanks ladies.
I just don't see what the big deal is if I'm completely covered.

I could understand it if I wasn't using a cover and people were getting little mini-flashes of my boobs, ya know?

I'm going to use the coupon code at Udder Covers to get a free nursing cover (you just pay their ridiculously high shipping charge of almost $12.00 lol)... and see if having an actual cover will make nursing more discreet.

1. I am not nursing my baby in the bathroom.

2. I shouldn't have to miss service to feed my child... if that's the case there is no point in going

In FACT... maybe I'll stay home next week.. and when the pastor and the Sunday School teacher ask where I am... have my DH tell them "Well, since she's not allowed to nurse in service, even if she's COMPLETELY covered up, she figured she'd stay home. If she has to miss the service to go feed the baby, then she said there was no point in coming."

Passive agressive...? Maybe... but it'll get the point across. LOL And then when they say "Oh no, nursing isn't a problem if she's covered." Then the next time she says something to me I can say "Well, pastor said it's fine if I'm covered."

*sigh*

So.. yeah... I'll order an Udder Cover tomorrow after DH gets paid... then we'll go from there.

I would thank her for her opinion. Then tell her that if the baby is hungry you will feed them no matter where you are. Also if she was paying attention to the sermon she would not be worried about what you or others are doing.

I have nursed in church many times. Today in fact.

As for covers I always just used the club things that keep your sheets on and receding blanket.

There are women in every church that feel like its their place to correct everyone and tell everyone what to do. I always assume their husbands have some issue with sexual sins or something

You weren't doing anything wrong, you covered yourself properly and you were feeding your baby for goodness sake.

lol, everyone is so well mannered. I would be furious and would intentionally not use a cover again in church. her bfing rights are protected by law and I highly doubt God has the teeniest bit of a problem with bfing...

If they had one of those baby rooms in the back I'd do that. But the bathroom?? Yuck! I would tell her you wouldn't expect anyone to eat in the bathroom! Ewe.

We have a nursery, but it's not wired for sound from the sanctuary, so I'd miss the sermon... or I'd disturb people by leaving and then disturb them by coming back when... really.. which is the bigger distraction? Me nursing discreetly? Or my baby fussing, then me leaving and coming back in from nursing somewhere else in the building?

I was trying to remain respectful while standing my ground, if that makes sense. I will continue to use a cover, because I do realize that most of our church family is VERY old fashioned and would be upset if I nursed without a cover... .So I felt like using a cover was a good compromise. I get to nurse, they don't have to worry about accidentally seeing too much skin... and everyone is happy. LOL Boy I was so wrong. LOL

Oh, and lets not forget that once, when I was nursing DS3, I was actually IN the nursery. The nursery worker's husband walked in on me nursing and was SOOOO embarrassed, he stuttered apologies and turned purple while quickly making his exit.

So even if i was IN the nursery, it wouldn't be "fool proof," LOL

And next week won't be an issue since it's my week to do the nursery anyway. So the lady and I will BOTH have a weekend of not dealing with this to cool off.. and by the NEXT service I should have a proper nursing cover... and we'll see.
