Headaches

So I finally started getting those lovely pregnancy headaches, oh joy! Have any of you found a cure to help other then meds?

For me, a small coffee every morning kept them under control. (I would pick a small amount caffeine over actual medication).

Mine get so bad that I HAVE to take two tylenol. I know that it's looked down upon... but good LORD they get bad. I shake, I get nauseated. Thank goodness I haven't had one in a week or so, and I've only had three since I found out I was pregnant.

Magnesium

Give it a try! It's helped me. A friend told me a neurologist told her that magnesium deficiencies are very common in just about everyone and that it tends to manifest as headaches in pregnant women in their second trimesters.

I tried a few sips of a coke yesterday and that took my headache down to about half power. Maybe I should just buy some to keep in the house just in case.

i second the coke...i just sip it slowly to keep it at bay. it doesn't make it go away completely, but it helps enough to justify the sugar/carbonated vs. meds.

rest and water and a shower/bath.

water. I started getting them bad and my sister with 4 babies said 'are you drinking your water?' and I started drinking about a gallon a day and the headaches went away.

See that's the thing, I drink SO much water or herbal tea during the day that I pee every 20 min as it is. I don't think water is the problem.

well, just add it up one day. Make sure that it's half your weight in ounces, plus more for pregnancy.

I know that these days I'm drinking more than the average person. But, I also know I'm drinking less than I'm supposed to be.

maybe it's not the water, but atleast you'll know for sure.
